Scholarship
A child's education should not stop because a term's fees are out of reach. The Dr. Turkson Hope Scholarship pays school fees directly to the school for pupils chosen on two things together: how hard they work, and how much the help is needed.
The scholarship is an initiative of Afri-Educational Plus, founded by Dr. Eunice Araba Turkson. Its first awards were made in 2026.
Chosen by the People Who Teach Them
The scholarship does not run a public application. The school does the choosing, because the school already knows which child is showing up, trying hard, and quietly struggling to stay enrolled.
Each class puts forward the pupils it believes deserve consideration. At Nkunim Preparatory School, all six classes took part.
A panel of five teachers weighs academic performance, attendance, and family circumstances for every name submitted.
School management confirms the committee's recommendations and forwards the final list to Dr. Turkson.
The award covers one term of school fees, paid to the school on the pupil's behalf. No money passes through the family.
Awards are presented at the school's own ceremony, so the achievement is recognised in front of the whole community.
Each year the scholarship reaches for another school, so more classrooms have a reason to keep a child at their desk.
The Class of 2026
The first three Hope Scholarships were awarded at Nkunim Preparatory School in Kasoa, and presented at the school's graduation ceremony on Saturday, 1 August 2026. The scholars came from Basic 3, Basic 4, and Basic 7 — each receiving one term of school fees for the 2025–2026 year.

The Letter That Named the First Three
Writing on behalf of Nkunim Preparatory School, Proprietress Josephine Boachie set out how the school had reached its decision: a committee of five teachers reviewed nominations from all six classes before management approved the final three.
The same letter invited Dr. Turkson to the school's graduation ceremony, and thanked her for establishing the scholarship — noting that the support would make a lasting difference to the pupils selected and serve as an example to others.
